Jon Pilat - Vocal Percussion and Part VII
Jon is thrilled to be performing with Primetime as vocal percussionist and very curious to discover what exactly "Part VII" refers to. He's hoping Star Wars.
Jon started beatboxing in college after realizing his voice was neither high nor low enough to be particularly useful, but his talent for stupid mouth noises might come in handy.
Jon is also the bass, beatboxer, and primary music arranger for bay area vocal band, Hookslide, and previously sang with the Stanford Harmonics. He has performed on four albums that were nominated for Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs), and won best Pop/Rock song for his arrangement of the Aerosmith classic, "Dream On". Jon has also served on the CASA board and is a frequent clinician at a cappella festivals.
When not singing, Jon works at Stanford University as the Director for Information Technology at the School of Humanities and Sciences. He lives in Palo Alto with his very patient wife and two less patient sons, aged 10 and 7.
